Spring Has Arrived On The Prairie!

Spring Has Arrived On The Prairie!

March 20, 2013

Spring begins with the vernal equinox that occurred this morning at 6:02 A.M. in the Northern Hemisphere.

The Vernal Equinox-Ah, spring! This season brings increasing daylight, warming temperatures, and the rebirth of flora and fauna.

The word equinox is derived from the Latin words meaning “equal night.” Days and nights are approximately equal everywhere and the Sun rises and sets due east and west.

It’s said that an individual can make an egg and/or a broom stand on its own during the vernal equinox. Have you tried this yet?

Happy First Day Of Spring Everyone!
