Brad McDowell Inducted into the O’Brien County Value Added Ag Hall of Fame at Farm Bureau Annual Meeting
Primghar, Iowa, August 24, 2012 – The O’Brien County Value Added Agriculture Steering Committee established their annual Agriculture Hall of Fame Awards in 2001 to acknowledge outstanding citizens in the agricultural sector. This year, Mr. Brad McDowell from Primghar received this honor at the O’Brien County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting held at the Paullina Legion Building on Monday, August 20. Mr. McDowell was chosen for his commitment to O’Brien County agriculture, community and youth, shown through his involvement in 4-H, O’Brien County Fair and Fair Board, O’Brien County Value Added Ag Committee, South O’Brien School Board, Primghar Memorial Committee and the United Church of Primghar.
According to the Ag Steering Committee, the successful candidate for this award must have demonstrated leadership, stewardship, community service and service to the agricultural industry. Brad McDowell has been actively involved in agriculture in O’Brien County his entire life. Mr. McDowell is one of those exceptional men who have successfully balanced his farming career along with raising a family and taking an active role working with the youth of the county, while giving something back to his community and county by being involved in community projects and committees. The Ag Steering Committee was pleased to present Mr. McDowell with the 2012 Value Added Ag Hall of Fame Award for his contributions to agriculture in O’Brien County.
