Iowa Young Birders Announced A Field Trip In Northwest Iowa For Ages 8-18
February 1, 2013
Iowa Young Birders has announced a field trip in Northwest Iowa. On Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 9 A.M. to 12 P.M. youth, ages 8-18, will have a unique opportunity to visit the Iowa Lakeside Lab and Lake Okoboji. The 147-acre Iowa Lakeside Lab campus serves as a field station for Iowa’s state universities. Although education is Lakeside's primary function, it also serves as a nature preserve and historic district on Little Miller’s Bay on West Lake Okoboji.
Iowa Young Birders will combine some birding on the campus with a sampling of the interesting birdlife of Iowa’s lakes region. The trip leader will be Lee Schoenewe, you may know him from past visits to the Prairie Heritage Center’s many birding events, and is focused on creating a great experience for young birders in Northwest Iowa.
Although this event is not in association with the O’Brien County Conservation Board or the Little Sioux Valley Conservation Association, what a GREAT opportunity for our area young birders? Visit Iowa Young Birder's website for registration information and more details. This event is free, but please remember that pre-registration is required and Iowa Young Birders will post more details about this unique opportunity in the coming months.
Happy Birding!
