Gary Doppenberg Inducted into the O’Brien County Value Added Ag Hall of Fame at Farm Bureau Annual Meeting

The O’Brien County Value Added Agriculture Steering Committee established their annual Agriculture Hall of Fame Awards in 2001 to acknowledge outstanding citizens in the agricultural sector. This year, Mr. Gary Doppenberg from Sheldon received this honor at the O’Brien County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting held at the Sheldon Community Services Center on Tuesday, August 13. Mr. Doppenberg was chosen for his commitment to O’Brien County business, agriculture and community, shown through his business practices within his company, Deluxe Feeds, Inc., and his involvement in education, church and community.
According to the Ag Steering Committee, the successful candidate for this award must have demonstrated leadership, stewardship, community service and service to the agricultural industry. Gary Doppenberg donates his time and resources to various local causes and is a member of the Dordt College Board of Trustees. He also sits on the Board of Directors of various schools and his church. Mr. Doppenberg promotes excellence in business management and value-added services to his customers and is a lifetime resident and active business partner of O’Brien County. He has been instrumental in innovative feed processing methods for the dairy industry and has served as a member and participant of national and state industry groups. The Ag Steering Committee was pleased to present Mr. Doppenberg with the 2013 Value Added Ag Hall of Fame Award for his contributions to agriculture in O’Brien County.
