Another Fabulous Free Event! Tomorrow, January 12, 2013 join the O’Brien County Conservation Board for the Winter Bird Count Event. Meet at the Prairie Heritage Center and at 10 AM you will caravan to areas in our county and surrounding to explore the winter birds in our area.
You may see the usual suspects such as Blue Jays, Cardinals, Dark Eyed Junco’s, just to name a few. But there have also been unusual sights of birds like Common Redpolls, Townsend’s Solitaire, Golden Eagles, Merlin’s, Robins that have chosen to winter in our Northwest Iowa -- the potential is endless.
Make it a day by bringing a sack lunch and participate in the Bald Eagle Count in the afternoon.
Dress for the weather, grab your birding gear, and make it a GREAT day for everyone to enjoy!
